Front-end Software (the software relevant for the end-user)

- All wireless connections will trigger a captive portal (a page that enforces the user to log on with user name and password and that cannot be bypassed by the user)

- The captive portal will try to authorise and authenticate the user against an authentication and authorisation server and also perform session accounting for the users session. Session accounting means the radius server will keep track of session times and amount of data transferred

- The captive portal is branded as ‘Chillifire’ including logos and colour scheme. ‘Chillifire’ is a registered trade mark of Connect Consulting Services Limited

- In order to gain access to the internet, the captive portal allows the user to purchase access time according to predefined Wifi plans. Payment for these plans can be made via credit card or electronic wallets such as PayPal. The system will issue a username and password, once a successful purchase of access time occurred

- The payment gateway can use the account(s) of Chillifire – no merchant or other payment gateway account owned by the provider is required (will attract a surcharge, see pricing)

- However, we recommend the payment gateway to use the account(s) of the provider

- The user has some admin functions available them, such as changing their username and/or password, retrieving a lost password, logging support or inquiry tickets via email,

and reviewing the end-user terms and conditions - Through the router software the provider can register as many routers against their account as they wish.

- The provider will respond to and manage all end-user enquiries and support tickets (support requests) with exception of sales enquiries

- Through the router software the provider can register as many routers against their own account and their managed accounts as they wish

 

Management Software (the software relevant for you, the hotspot provider) - The provider will have the account status ‘affiliate’ and as such can view and maintain all his own account information as well as the account information of the accounts associated with his affiliate account (this association is performed on registration of a new account)
- Monitoring of router(s) associated with the provider
- Their status as to whether they are online or offline
- Their real-time performance and data load
- Management of provider account information such as
- Address and contact details
- Bank account details for receipt of funds
- Own graphical (logo) and textual branding information
- The affiliate branding information will be visible to the end-user next to the account’s branding information
- Register new accounts associated with their own account
- View of end-user accounts created by the system based on successful purchasing of access time
- View of current users online
- View of successful payment transactions performed by end users
- View of Wifi payment plans
- Change the provider’s password
- Create completely new payment plans independent of Chillifire’s standard plan
- Manually create new users (for free access or for existing users on cut-over from other Hotspot management packages)

 

Remote maintenance and servicing options
- Remote logon to router by Chillifire via secure virtual private network (based on OpenVPN software – see www.openvpn.org) to perform remote maintenance, upgrade and fault analysis (in the unlikely event that is required)

- Optional addition on request of ‘walled garden’ (limited number of web pages the end-user can see without login on. Typically the provider’s own website or web pages for promotional purposes)

- Optional addition on request of ‘custom splash screen’ (First web page the end-user will see before even getting to the Chillifire Portal. That web page must be owned and branded by the provider and must have a clear and obvious link to the Chillifire Captive Portal included)

 

Service Pricing

- There are no software license fees from Chillifire to the provider

- Broadband connection: The provider is responsible to provide a broadband internet connection on the premises the wireless internet hotspot is to be installed at their own expenses. This is strictly a contract between the provider and their Internet Service Provider (ISP) and does not involve Chillifire and Connect Consulting Services Limited in any way

- Hardware: Router hardware can either be procured from a third party by the provider themselves (requires the self-install of the router software by the provider) or procured preconfigured through this website from Chillifire

- Hosting Service: Chillifire will retain a certain percentage of the fees paid by the end-user for their internet access on the Chillifire Hotspot. The percentage is determined by the size of revenue (before bank fees are subtracted) achieved by a provider across all Chillifire Hotspots owned or managed by them in a particular invoicing period (= a calendar month). The percentage fees are as follows:

- End-user support service: The provider is responsible for supporting the end-users using his hotspots. Should the provider request Chillifire to provide end-user support, a surcharge of 10% of the fees paid by the end-user for their internet access on the Chillifire Hotspot in addition to the hosting services fees will be charged to the provider.

- Billing service: Should the provider use Chillifire’s payment gateway account rather than their own PayPal account, a surcharge of 10% of the fees paid by the end-user for their internet access on the Chillifire Hotspot in addition to the hosting services fees will be charged to the provider.
